Want to back up or transfer your music from your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad to your PC? Whether you’re upgrading your device or just want to keep your tunes safe, saving music from your Apple device is easier than you might think. In this guide, we’ll walk you through various methods—whether you’re a beginner—so you can keep your favorite tracks accessible and secure. Let’s get started!
Step 1: Get the Right Tool – I Recommend 3uTools!
To get started, you’ll need some third-party software. The one I personally recommend is 3uTools—a powerful and user-friendly tool that makes transferring your music a breeze. It’s free to use and has all the features you need for easy management of your iOS device. You can download 3u tools by clicking here
Once you have that installed on your computer, Let’s dive in!

Step 2: Export Your Music with Ease
Once you’ve installed 3uTools, open the program and connect your device. After it loads, click on your device, then select Music from the options on the side bar. At the top, hit Export.
Next, choose the location where you want to save your music and click OK, and voila! All your music will be copied over, and the file names will remain intact. This method works for iPhones and iPads too easy as 123!

And That’s It – You Did It!
Now your music is safely copied and ready to enjoy on your PC. No hassle, no fuss—just your favorite tracks, ready for you anytime. Enjoy the freedom of your music library!

Explore Alternative Tools (For Simplicity)
If you’re looking for an easier option than Foobar, there are several third-party applications like imazing, CopyTrans, TouchCopy, SharePod, and iTools. These tools can help you copy music from your iPod to your PC, just like Foobar2000. However, keep in mind that they are paid software, and the trial versions usually let you transfer only 20-50 tracks for free. I have personally purchased CopyTrans in the past and although it is extremely simple to use needing only one click to back up your entire ipod, it was quite pricey considering we can use free applications to do the exact same thing. It will only allow you to use 5 devices per license as well.
While they might be simpler for those who aren’t too tech-savvy, I personlly don’t think they’re worth it considering the price and the limitations of the free versions.
