Bluetooth Upgrade Kit For Apple iPod Classic 5th 6th & 7th Gen. This kit is a rear housing assembly with a built in Bluetooth module and 3000mAh battery. To add it to your iPod simply remove the existing rear housing and attach this one! Available in multiple different aftermarket colours!
To pair your Bluetooth earphones/ headphones/ speaker: Use the lock switch to turn on power to the Bluetooth module, put your earphones in pair mode, click the pair button by pushing in the lock switch.
Please note:
The lock switch has been converted to a power switch for the bluetooth module. By installing this rear housing you will lose lock switch functionality.
Compatibility:
- The slim housing version will only fit if you use an iflash quad.
- The thick housing has been tested to fit with the iFlash solo, quad, Green mSata Adapter, Green CF adapter and the SLIM original hard drive.
- You can also install this onto an ipod classic 6 and 7th gen as well, although you also have to remove the metal shield from behind the LCD. (in the original video i had said the range was limited although i had tested it using a low quality pair of bluetooth earbuds. After testing with a better quality pair the range issues went away)
- not compatible with the airpods pro 2s specifically. As they requite more bandwidth than what the standard bluetooth spec will allow, hence why they only really work properly with other apple products. I have had reports from buyers saying they connect but the audio sounds choppy. Other airpods models have been reported to work.
The bluetooth board used is the KCX_BT_EMITTER v1.7. uses Bluetooth 4.1 Technology
Please take care whilst installing this rear housing. It is more difficult to install than a regular rear housing as there are wires that you have to keep out of the way. If you are not comfortable doing it on your own please contact me and I can do it for you.

White/ black plastic bezel that goes around the charging port at the bottom is not included. Although your old ipod should have one
If you would like us to also add a taptic engine to your kit as well you can just add it to cart here: https://partspluspods.com.au/product/taptic-engine-for-iphone-mini-12/. Please note the vibration is not particularly strong.
I also have these slim silver versions with a blank back available for $5 AUD less here as well: https://partspluspods.com.au/product/no-logo-slim-silver-bluetooth-upgrade-kit-for-apple-ipod-classic-5th-6th-7th-gen/

I installed this along with an iflash solo and upgraded screen as my first iPod mod, totally worth it. It’s so nice to have Bluetooth on my iPod and the upgraded battery is amazing.

I purchased two of these and installed in 5th gen and a 6th gen.
5th gen works fantastic and couldn’t be happier.
6th gen works well for headphones or in a car but has limited range (removed metal backing as advised.
If you will be in close range then you can’t go wrong, just understand the limits before purchase and you will be happy with the product.
Very easy mod to do, I advise using 5th gen for many reasons ie better Bluetooth range, easier to open case and the biggest one for me is better sound quality due to the wolfson dac when plugged in to headphones, I use sennheiser ie600.
I am now doing a 5th gen u2 edition and hope to get the same Bluetooth and 3000mah battery into the engraved rear if they can possibly do that.

Phenomenal job in putting the bluetooth together. Clean, clear, crisp sound coming out of the iPods. I got 3 of them!!! It’s so easy to connect to AirPods. I will be ordering more. To get to the U.S. from Australia in 4 days, I requested that, and paid about $80 more. It was worth the extra cost. They were packaged very very well. Brand new battery, case, headphone jack and bluetooth board. It’s so amazing listening out of these I can’t even describe how long I’ve wanted this. When I tried the mod myself I messed up the headphone jack and totally ruined it and it took so much time and energy from me. James is a professional soldering artist and can do anything. These are 1000% worth it, and your iPod will last a long long time.
